Shop My Closet
After traveling to Nairobi, Kenya in the summer of 2013 and returned with a passion to ignite others to adopt her personal philosophy to “radically give and radically live” and especially focused on widows and orphans in Kenya. Within a few months, she originated the very successful Go Near Ministry “Shop my Closet” event in her home. Melanie rallied women to go through their closets and donate fine clothing and accessories to be resold for Go Near projects.

Out of Africa
Another event held by Melanie Boutiette in her home. Women are offered the opportunity to taste African dishes and wine while purchasing christmas gifts made by and benefitting women and children in Africa. This is a great way to empower orphans and widows, while also giving a meaningful Christmas gift to a family member or friend.

Ways to Support
Go Near Ministry provides meaningful opportunities to connect with widows, orphans and poor in Kenya. Fundraising events help sponsor volunteer mission trips and fund ongoing Go Near Ministry projects in Africa. Our ministry leads volunteer groups to serve widows, orphans and the poor in Kenya. We enjoy presenting in church, community and school groups.
